IPS will offer 58 programs (classes) at its four locations. Our creche, kindergarten and general after-school programs will be offered only at the E. 45th Street location, which is the largest location.

Age Cut-off
To be eligible for a class, your child's age as of September 1 must be within the range shown below for that class. Ages are shown in "year.month" format (e.g., 1.6 = 1 year 6 months; 4.11 = 4 years 11 months). To determine your child's age on September 1, 2010 use our age calculator.

Creche and Toddler classes, marked with asterisks (*), have shortened sessions during the first two to six weeks of school (see sample phase-in schedule at the bottom of this page), as part of the parent- or caregiver-separation process.

Sample Phase-in Schedule
In order to encourage a comfortable and secure adjustment to each new school year, the first sessions of Creche and Toddler classes are shortened and gradually increase in length. Each class has a different phase-in schedule, varying in length from two to six weeks depending on age. To give you a general idea of how it works, this is the day-by-day phase-in schedule for one class of three-year-olds:

1. Group A: 1:00-2:00; Group B 2:30-3:30 (1 hour)
2. Group A: 1:00-2:00; Group B 2:30-3:30 (1 hour)
3. Whole class: 1:00-2:00 (1 hour)
4. Whole class: 1:00-2:00 (1 hour)
5. Whole class: 1:00-2:30 (1.5 hours)
6. Whole class: 1:00-2:30 (1.5 hours)
7. Whole class: 1:00-2:30 (1.5 hours)
