We wanted to let you know how The International Preschools has been dealing with the COVID-19 epidemic.
All through February and early March we followed advice from the New York State and New York City Department of Health on how to keep our community safe. We also explored ways to maintain communications and connections with our community as it became more and more likely that school would be closed for awhile. We practiced using Zoom, and made sure all staff had the technology they needed. The faculty brainstormed on the best activities to do with their students in a virtual classroom.
When we left for Spring Break on March 13th, we had a plan in place, and the faculty and staff worked during the break to refine our plan. We began phasing in our Zoom Connections remote interactions for all ages on Monday, March 30th. The teachers were so happy to be together with their students and the faculty and administration will continue to meet regularly to share new ideas for their classes. The specialty teachers will begin presenting lessons during the week of April 6th.
Our Director, Donna Cohen, has been communicating with our families each week to keep them updated of our remote school plans and sharing helpful resources. These letters and resources will be regularly added to this page.
We hope that your families and all those close to you are safe during this difficult time.
