Meet Our Teachers

 

 

SONY DSCMs. Babette began teaching at The International Preschools in 2000. She was born in Guadeloupe and grew up in Paris and attended the French College. Ms. Babette holds a certificate as a Child Development Associate and completed a reflective practitioner fellowship at MIT in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning. The diversity of The International Preschools is what drew her to the school with her commitment to working with families who are from a broad spectrum of cultures. Every year she supports children at this beginning stage of school life to promote their confidence and excitement about learning.
SONY DSCMs. Sarah began teaching at The International Preschools in 2013. Ms. Sarah has spent her entire career working in a preschool setting, and loves to empower young minds to think creatively. She previously worked as an Atelierista and Director at a Reggio-Emilia inspired Early Childhood program in Annapolis, Maryland. Sarah is New York State certified in Art Education, and has degrees in Interdisciplinary Arts for Children and Studio Art. Not only is she a passionate educator but she is also a mother and a practicing artist. Sarah is grateful to be a member of The International Preschools’ community, and values the relationships formed between the children, parents, and teachers.
SONY DSCMs. Maura began teaching at The International Preschools in  2011. She is a native up upstate New York. She holds a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the University of Buffalo. She is New York State certified in Early Childhood Education. Her main goal in the classroom is not only to provide a loving environment for the children, but to also enrich their lives with learning while having fun. Ms. Maura became a teacher because she love kids which means she likes to get messy and explore! She is a hands-on kind of person who realizes how special these early years are and the positive impact a teacher can have on their growth.

Karen RosenthalMs. Karen began teaching at The International Preschools in 2002.  She is a native New Yorker and received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Syracuse University and her Masters in Education from Fordham University. Ms. Karen is New York State Certified in regular and Special Education nursery through sixth grade.  She previously taught in the Pre-K and Green Rooms for 8 years as well as science for four years.  For the past 2 years, Karen was the Development Associate.
SONY DSCMs. Karen began teaching at The International Preschools in 2011. She is originally from Trinidad and Tobago, where she oversaw a preschool. Ms. Karen received a certificate in Early Childhood Education from the University of the West Indies. She gets great satisfaction in working with preschool children of all ages and supporting their learning and development.
SONY DSCMs. Elena is originally from Vicenza, Italy. She began teaching at The International Preschools in 1997. She originally studied at the University of Padua. Ms. Elena earned an Associates Degree in Early Childhood from the Borough of Manhattan Community College. She loves bringing her international experience to the school.

Ms. Magdalena began teaching at The International Preschools in 2016. She comes to IPS with several years of experience as an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher.  She is extremely dedicated to the philosophy of learning through play and enjoys watching her students bloom and grow. Ms. Magdalena is a fluent in Spanish and enjoys not only teaching young children but learning from them as well.

Robyn CleryMs. Robyn began teaching at The International Preschools in 2011. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from Manhattanville College. She is New York State certified in Childhood Education and Early Childhood Education. Before coming to The International Preschools, she taught in Connecticut.  In 2016, Ms. Robyn was awarded the Elizabeth Patrick Leadership Award.  She is passionate about teaching and working with young children, and strives to create a warm, supportive environment where every child feels good about his or her accomplishments each day.
SONY DSCMs. Dalia began teaching at The International Preschools in 2012. She is originally from Monterrey, Mexico.  Before moving to the United States. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics with a focus in Translation. She enjoys working with children and has previous experience working as a teacher in both an elementary and a preschool.

SONY DSCMs. Jenna began teaching at The International Preschools in 2011. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of Vermont and earned her Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Brooklyn College and is New York State certified. Prior to coming to New York,  Ms. Jenna taught preschool in Vermont, Massachusetts and Colorado. She looks forward each year to meeting a new group of children who will grow and learn an incredible amount over the course of the school year.

Ms. Melissa began teaching at The International Preschools in 2015. She earned her Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College and is New York State certified in  early and elementary education. Ms. Melissa has 15 years of previous experience as a head teacher at well-known preschools in Manhattan where she also taught art and physical education.

 

 

SONY DSCMs. Lisa began teaching at The International Preschools in 2010. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Emerson College and earned a Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College. Ms. Lisa also earned a Master of  Arts degree in Communication Research from the University of Leicester. She is certified in early childhood education in New York State.  Prior to moving to New York City, Miss Lisa lived and taught in Boston, Florida and Amsterdam. Besides her love of learning, her interests include travel, food, film and dance.

Ms. Yaritza began teaching at The International Preschools in 2016.  She is passionate about working with young children and will complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2017 from Lehman College.  Ms. Yaritza speaks fluent Spanish and has over 7 years of experience working with children in various capacities.

Ms. Jennifer originally taught at The International Preschools in the 2006 school year and returned to the school in 2015. She has a Masters in both Childhood Special Education  and TESL both obtained from Hofstra University as well as a BA in English/Creative Writing.  She volunteers at the Metropolitan Museum of Art involved with gallery talks and exhibit tours.  She was an English substitute teacher at Lyceum Kennedy International school in addition to being an ESL Instructor at Hunter College and an English Instructor at Adelphi University.  Ms. Jennifer likes teaching at IPS because the school has such a diverse population and embraces the multiculturalism of Manhattan. Having exposure to the richness of so many cultures makes teaching at IPS a significant experience.

Ms. Wioletta began teaching at The International Preschools in 2016. She earned her Masters of Science in Early Childhood Education at the City University of New York in 2016. Ms. Wioletta also has an MA in Teaching with dual concentration in Polish Language and Cultural Studies from Kazimierz Wielki University in Poland. She is fluent in both English and Polish, with basic oral skills in Russian and Ukranian. Ms. Wioletta has 3 years of experience teaching in Pre-K classrooms. She loves teaching children how to explore new things and how to apply creativity to everything they do. Ms. Wioletta is very passionate about the importance of play because play is the foundation of children’s learning.

Ms. Gina began teaching at The International Preschools in 2015. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Arts Education from SUNY New Paltz and has a Master for Science Degree in General and Special Education from Touro College. Ms. Gina grew up in Long Island, NY and she became a teacher because each day provides new learning experiences that encourage children to explore and reach their potential.


Lizelle Lim Ms. Lizelle
began teaching at The International Preschools in 2015. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language Arts from Hunter College and earned a Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Teachers College at Columbia University.  Ms. Lizelle is New York state certified.  She is a native New Yorker whose family originates from the Phillipines.  She has worked with children in a variety of capacities ranging from summer camps to both public and private schools. She became a teacher because she loves to learn alongside her students and looks forward each year to the classr

Ms. Hande began teaching at an intern at The International Preschools in 2014.  She earned her Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Long Island University and is New York State Certified.  She is currently working on her second Master of Science degree in Special Education at Touro College. Ms. Hande was born and raised in Ankara, Turkey where she worked as an English/French/Turkish translator prior to coming to the United States. She chose to become a teacher because she is fascinated by children’s curiosity and wonder. She is committed to creating a loving and nurturing learning environment for her students. She is a big animal lover who enjoys traveling.

Ms. Dara began teaching at The International Preschools since 2008. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Syracuse University and earned a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Long Island University/C.W. Post. Ms. Dara is originally from Long Island, NY. She loves working with young children because they are so open to the world.

Ms. Alyssa began teaching at The International Preschools in 2012.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Lafayette College in American Studies and Sociology and earned her Master of Science degree in Guidance and Counseling from New York University. In 2017, Ms. Alyssa was awarded the Elizabeth Patrick Leadership Award. Prior to joining The International Preschools, Ms. Alyssa worked with children of all ages, ranging from preschool to high school. Alyssa enjoys working in early childhood and she loves seeing the daily growth in her students.
SONY DSCMs. Greene began teaching at The International Preschools in 2008. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood Education from Nyack College and earned a dual Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from Touro College. Ms. Greene is a firm believer that it takes a village to raise a child and every year she looks forward to working with the wonderful, diverse children at The International Preschools.
SONY DSCMs. Jamie began teaching at The International Preschools in 2015.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia and earned a Master of Science degree in Literacy Education from Hunter College and is New York state certified. Ms. Jamie is a native New Yorker who has designed and taught both early childhood and elementary curriculum. She is passionate about preschool education and literacy and she thinks she has the most fun job of anyone she knows! SONY DSCMs. Colleen began teaching at The International Preschools in 2011. She earned a Master of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College with dual certification in Special Education and Early Childhood Education and she is New York State certified. Working with young toddlers and their families for over 15 years, Ms. Colleen knows how special this age group is. Each year, she works to  learn something from her students that she did not know before.
SONY DSCMs. Judith began teaching at The International Preschools since 1991. She earned a Para-Educator Certificate from New York University.  Ms. Judith is originally from Jamaica and is the proud mother of an International Preschool alumnus who now substitute teaches at the school. Judith especially enjoys the uniqueness of the school community and the diversity it has to offer.
 SONY DSCMs. Janine began teaching at The International Preschools in 2002. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Bradford College and earned a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from City College. Born in Queens, NY, Ms Janine lived in Pennsylvania where she taught young children prior to returning to New York City. She was originally drawn to The International Preschools by her interest in other cultures. Her classroom is her home away from home.
Grace Zukowska
Ms. Grace began teaching at The International Preschools in 2000. She earned her Masters of Science degree in Early Childhood Education at Adam Micklewica University in Poland. She takes into account the interests and strengths of each individual student which is so important for toddlers learning to socialize and become life-long learners.
SONY DSCMs. Deb began teaching at The International Preschools in 2010, but she originally came to the school as a parent in 2005. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Brown University and studied Decorative Arts at Sotheby’s in London. She has a Master of Science degree from the University of California Los Angeles. She speaks French and Italian and enjoys watching her International Preschool alum sons play baseball and basketball. For Ms. Deb teaching young children is as magical as it is enlightening.
SONY DSCMs. Dora began teaching at The International Preschools in 2004. She earned an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from LaGuardia College. Growing up in a large family in Hungary greatly influenced her decision to make her life’s work educating children. Ms. Dora believes that the preschool years are an extremely important time in a child’s development and is committed to providing the youngest students at The International Preschools with a rich and rewarding experience. SONY DSCMs. Yaniris (Ms. Yani) began teaching at The International Preschols in 2014. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology from Touro College and is enrolled in a Master’s program.  Ms. Yani is originally from The Dominican Republic  She is grounded in the educational fundamentals that all children deserve to be provided the support and opportunities to grow socially, emotionally and intellectually.
Monika SzybistyMs. Monika began teaching at The International Preschools in 2015. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies from SUNY Purchase College.  Originally from Poland, Ms Monika has 12 years of experience working with children from birth to teenagers and has previously taught in two preschools in Westchester. . She especially loves working with younger children because they are freshly discovering the world and she is fascinated with their curiosity when exploring.
Riyo MinariMs. Riyo began teaching at The International Preschools in 2010. She earned a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from the City College of New York. She is certified in New York State. Ms. Riyo is originally from Japan where she earned her undergraduate degree East Asian Cultures with emphasis on Chinese and Korean languages and culture. Ms. Riyo has also traveled to twenty five countries as a tourist, a volunteer and an intern. She loves working with children from around the world while sharing her Japanese heritage.
Jayney WolfsonMs. Jayney began teaching at The International Preschools in 2014. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Hartford.  Her passion for teaching came from her mother. Ms. Jayney is an avid photographer, an artist and she loves traveling. Her home away from home is Cape Town, South Africa. Her commitment  to young children is something that inspires her to be creative and caring every day. Ms. Astrid began teaching at The International Preschools in 2011.  She has a Bachelors of Arts degree in English and Philosophy from Fordham University where she also earned her Masters of Artsin Early Childhood Education. She is certified by New York State in Early Childhood and Students with Disabilities. She was born and raised in New York City and speaks fluent Spanish. In 2015, Ms. Astrid was awarded the Elizabeth Patrick Leadership Award. Her favorite part about teaching is getting to know and learn from her students.
Ms. Alesha began teaching at the International Preschools in 2014.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology form Miami Dade College.  She was born in Queens, New York. Ms. Alesha loves the opportunity to work with children and looks forward to each day in the classroom.

She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Travel, Transportation and Tourism from Niagara Univerisity.  Ms. Eileen is originally from Park Slope, Brooklyn. She is has a true passion for early childhood education where she can use her skills to help create an energetic, supportive and nurturing environment.

She earned both her Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood Education and English Language Arts and her Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College. She is certified in New York State. Ms. Tamisha was born and raised in Queens, NY. She enjoys teaching young children and appreciates the various cultures and backgrounds of her students. She has a love for the performing arts and often enjoys dancing, singing songs, and acting out stories with children. Her goal each year is not only to teach, but to learn from the children as well. She looks forward to creating a safe and nurturing environment for the children, full of discovery and learning together. SONY DSCMrs. Reisinger began teaching at The International Preschools in 1986. She was born and educated in Budapest, Hungary. Mrs. Reisinger’s  greatest source of professional fulfillment is to see children thrive socially and academically during the year they are in her class. She directs the Summer Camp program at the 76th Street location. Her daughter is an alum of the school and Mrs.Reisinger is an avid ashtanga yoga practitioner who enjoys spending her free time with her family, hiking and traveling to every corner of the world.
SONY DSCMs. Jacqueline began teaching at The International Preschools in 2010. She has a Masters of Arts in International Education from New York University.  Ms. Jacqueline speaks five languages.  Prior to coming to The International Preschools, Ms. Jacqueline taught in early childhood education, throughout the age spectrum, as well as working in social and educational research. She is committed to creating a rich and nurturing learning environment that supports every child deepening into his or her curiosity and unique expression. She earned her Masters of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College.  Ms Landon is is an alumna of the Rockland County and New York City public school systems, Her grandson is an alum of  the 76th Street location.

 

SONY DSCMs. Jaya began teaching at Teh International Preschool in 2015.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Drew University and earned her Master of Science in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street college. Ms. Jaya also has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Poetry from Sarah Lawrence College.  She is New York State certified.  She is originally from Long Island, NY. Ms. Jaya is passionate about literacy and enjoys promoting listening to, telling, and writing stories in her classroom. Ms. Jaimee began teaching at The International Preschools in 2014. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from St. John’s University.  She was born and raised in Miami.  Ms. Jaimee loves working with children—before coming to The International Preschools she worked at Super Soccer Stars. Working with children on their motor skills made her realize her passion to nurture children’s learning and growth.
Maggy Santiago

Ms. Maggie began teaching at The International Preschools in 2015.  She has an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Borough of Manhattan Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from City College. Prior to joining The International Preschools, Ms. Maggie worked at the Child and Family Center at Rockefeller University.  She is originally from New York City, but her parents are from Puerto Rico.  Ms. Maggie was raised in Spanish Harlem and is fluent in Spanish. She enjoys not only teaching young children but learning from them as well.  Maggie loves the community and the diversity The International Preschools has to offer. She looks forward every day to working and playing with the children

LoriMs. Lori began teaching at the International Prechools in 2015.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Brooklyn College.  Prior to coming to The International Preschools, Ms. Lori had eleven years of previous teaching experience in both private and public schools. She became a teacher because she loves to mold the young minds of children. She believes that children are our future and giving them a solid learning foundation will help them flourish throughout their life.
Ms. Meg began teaching at The International Preschools in 2015.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in English and Early Elementary Education from Hofstra University.  She is currently enrolled a Columbia Teachers College in a Master of Science degree in Literacy program. Ms Meg is originally from Long Island and prior to joining The International Preschools, she worked with children of all ages, ranging from prekindergarten to middle school. She believes there is no better feeling than working with young children and watching them grow and learn. Ms. Emi began teaching at The International Preschools in 1999.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Marymount College and earned her Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College.  Ms. Emi is originally from Japan and came to New York City to study education. She has always been interested in American education with its emphasis on  multiculturalism. She is New York State certified in both General and Special Education in Early Childhood. In 2016, Ms. Emi was awarded the Elizabeth Patrick Leadership Award.  Ms Emi is motivated by the eagerness children bring to the classroom to learn. Each school year is filled with fun and excitement. Her two children are alums of The International Preschools. She is also a dog lover and has two dogs.
SONY DSCMs. Jerilyn began teaching at The International Preschools in 2005. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Literacy from Fordham University and a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from New York University. She is certified in New York State. Before coming to The International Preschools, Ms. Jerilyn taught hearing impaired  student with cochlear implants. mayorga-chelsea-1Ms. Chelsea began working at The International Preschools in 2015. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from SUNY Oswego. She was born and raised in Long Island, NY and loves getting to know the children at school while helping them learn and grow.
SONY DSCMs. Carol began teaching at The International Preschools in 1999. She is originally from the Caribbean island of Granada. She holds a certificate as a Child Development Associate. She loves working at The International Preschoools because of the opportunities to meet wonderful families and nurture young minds. Ms. Janelle began teaching at The International Preschools in 2015.  She is currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Education program at Grand Canyon University.  Prior to joining The International Preschools, Ms. Janelle was a full time nanny.  This experience working with children made her want to pursue a career in educating the youngest of children.
Joy EdwardsMs. Joy began teaching at The International Preschools in 2015. She is currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Education and Psychology program at Touro College. Born and raised in New York City, Ms. Joy became a teacher because of her passion to teach young children.
Ms. Beth began teaching at The 4206_001International Preschools in 2017.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition at State University of New York at Plattsburgh.  While raising her two children, Ms. Beth worked caring for the elderly at an assisted living facility in Dallas, Texas.  Born and raised on Long Island, she is happy to be back in New York and looks forward each day to working and playing with the children and watching them achieve their first milestones.

Ms. Yari began teaching at International Preschools in 2017. She has 10 years of experience working with children and was a Creative Movement teacher for several years in a preschool in Westchester, NY.  Ms. Yari is originally from the Dominican Republic, she is bilingual in Spanish and English. She’s passionate about working with children and loves learning from her students each day.

Ms.Rumana  began teaching at The International Preschools in 2015.  She was born and raised in Bangladesh. After graduating from high school and intermediate college in Art in Bangladesh. Ms. Rumana moved to the United States in 2009 and received a high school equivalency diploma in the United States. She also completed courses in ESL and Computer Accounting at the Metropolitan Learning Institute, NY. She is currently attending college earning a degree in Early Childhood Education. She was working with preschool children in Bangladesh and enjoys working with the children and hopes make it a lifelong career.
