May 5th marked National Teacher Appreciation Day. Here at The International Preschools, we like to think that are teachers are appreciated every day! The fabulous IPS Parents Association, in honor of the immense amount of work that our teachers are preparing and executing every day via our Zoom sessions, decided to present the faculty by coordinating a special surprise…
New York City has been social distancing due to COVID-19 for several weeks now. The International Preschools has been closed since the week of March 16th. While we are constantly reminded that we are “not alone” throughout this process, the weight of being isolated from our peers has undoubtedly taken a toll on all of us. We could all use a little brightening of the spirits!
Enter IPS Spirit Day, which will take place on Friday, April 24th! On this day, The International Preschools’ students and families are invited to wear/display IPS gear (hats, tee shirts, aprons, sweatshirts, backpacks). Any IPS apparel or item will do, as it will show your support of our school! You can even make your own signs to display. Alumni are invited to participate as well.
Because we can’t all be together in person, parents are asked to take photos of their children with/wearing their IPS items and post them on Instagram! Tag the photo(s) with @international_preschools_nyc or email them to Nikki Rosso at firstname.lastname@example.org so that she can post them on our Instagram page.
The International Preschools’ annual Spring Benefit will take place on Friday, April 24, 2020 at the Yale Club here in midtown Manhattan. Our Parents’ Association has already begun working on this exciting event.
Whether you’ve attended several benefits or never been to one, here’s a few reasons why you should join us this year…
The International Preschools is beyond lucky to procure a faculty and staff full of talent, dedication, and warmth. Each year, our teachers, administration, and staff members are recognized at the Annual Spring Benefit, which falls this year on Friday, April 24, 2020 (details to follow!).
There is a special recognition given to the members of the IPS family who are celebrating a milestone year, be it five years, ten years, fifteen years, twenty years, or beyond. These honorees (and their longevity with the school) demonstrate such a noteworthy commitment to The International Preschools, which is much appreciated by the school community as a whole. The milestone recipients are also acknowledged at a special luncheon given in their honor in the coming months.
An annual tradition at The International Preschools is to honor those members of the staff who have spent a significant amount of years as employees of our school. Faculty, administration, and staff members who have completed five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five, and thirty years (and beyond!) as part of the IPS community are celebrated each year at the Annual Benefit. This year, the IPS milestone recipients will receive special recognition at the Annual Benefit, taking place at the Yale Club on Friday, February 1st. They will also attend a luncheon later in February in their honor. Continue reading to find out who will be honored this year!
Every year, The International Preschools hosts its annual benefit, which will take place this year on Friday, February 1st, 2019, at the Yale Club in New York City. Here, parents, teachers, and staff come together to celebrate our wonderful school with food, drinks, socializing, and music, as well as both a silent and live auction to raise money for our school. To honor the many cultures represented by IPS families, the Annual Benefit’s theme each year centers around a particular country, including its food, music, and traditions; this year, the Annual Benefit’s country theme is France!
“We don’t inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.” This meaningful quote from David Brower perfectly describes how The International Preschools’ community feels about taking care of the Earth. We, as teachers, staff members, and parents, strive to take care of the Earth through modeling for our children and students, so that they too can take care of the Earth for their children.
Every spring, The International Preschools hosts a Spring Benefit here in New York City. Faculty, administration, current and former IPS parents, and friends gather to support our school in a variety of ways.
Each year, the benefit has a special theme, usually with a multicultural motif. Cuisine, clothing, and music at the event represent the chosen theme (much like the teachers facilitate with each month’s classroom subjects!). During the first part of the evening, the IPS community enjoys great food and drink and mingle with each other.
Each year, The International Preschools’ community celebrates the milestone recipients of the school’s faculty and administration. Staff members who have worked at The International Preschools for five, ten, fifteen, twenty years and beyond are honored at our annual Spring Benefit in April.
